Residency Project

I am a proponent of artistic diversity, and bridging the gaps between disciplines. One way I facilitate this is by creating projects that combine various art forms.

In the past, I’ve written and directed a community production that had characters pay homage to notable figures in our region’s arts scene. Framed as an election for an arts leadership position, this play highlighted the power of supporting all types of artists, including technical designers. I would love to revive this concept with a new group and purpose, and I believe it could strengthen ties within a school’s arts students.

Another project I have led that would work well in a school setting, is a multi-disciplinary revue. I worked with performers in various art forms to create or curate an act that speaks to their interpretation of a universal theme. Ultimately, we presented a production that exhibited variety as well as cohesion. It was a collaborative process guided by myself that challenged artists, and provided a unique experience for the audience. I believe this type of project would be incredibly beneficial for a school group.

Teaching Experience

I have been leading youth in the performing arts for many years, teaching intensive theatre camps, weekly classes, and workshops.

My approach is structured, connecting exercises to practical skills students can add to their tool belt. I emphasize discovery through play, and reinforce tutorials as we stage presentation pieces.

On top of being a consistent instructor at the Capitol Theatre Academy since 2021, I’ve led programming for groups like ChromaNB, Pride in Education, and ArtsLink NB. Participants have called my sessions “an open, engaging, energetic, truly judgement free safe space”.
