Bio

A singer and guitarist first and foremost, Daniel Bérubé has over 500+ shows to his credit as musical director, freelancer, songwriter and/or ACI. A founding member of the group Spoutnique, he co-produced, recorded and mixed their 3 albums. In addition to multiple studio projects with up-and-coming artists in the region, including the Compos Des Jeunes editions 2020 and 2024 albums, he also recorded and co-produced the “Mélodies d'autrefois” album by classical guitarist Bruno Jacques Pelletier. He is also the technical director and in-house sound engineer for the Edmundston Arts Centre.

Residency Project

The project involves helping 9-12th graders compose and record songs for an album. The students involved are the French and Media Arts classes, in the creation of lyrics and album cover design, respectively, and the Music classes. Students interested in songwriting can also join in with their songs to come up with a professional final product, giving them a lot of experience they wouldn't find anywhere else.

Teaching Experience

I've already successfully completed the project twice at Polyvalente Cité des Jeunes (CDJ) in 2019-20 and 2023-24, running workshops in French, art and music classes. I'm also currently working as a K-8 music teacher at École Ernest-Lang in St-François.
