Bio

Domenic Bro is an Acadian filmmaker and content creator from Tracadie. Largely self-taught, Domenic and his brother François Pierre formed the duo Les frères Breau, which has created a few hundred videos since 2009 that have toured the world, online, on TV and on the big screen (documentaries, series, music videos, short films, etc.). In a short space of time, he has become an important figure in contemporary Acadian culture.

Residency Project

Learners would be invited to explore their personal and collective identity through a variety of media to create a short video. Each student could choose a theme that touches them, such as family, traditions or dreams.

They would use a variety of techniques such as writing, digital collage or simple drawing to express their ideas. The process would include brainstorming workshops, group creative sessions and final presentations. Learners could share the work at a screening, encouraging an exchange of ideas and perspectives with the public and the community.

The project would encourage creativity, collaboration and personal reflection, while enabling them to connect with each other through their unique fictional stories and real-life experiences.

Teaching Experience

I can work alone, but I'm usually with my brother François Pierre. We've been to several schools in the region (École La Passerelle - Pont-Landry, École La Ruche - Tracadie, École Le Tremplin - Tracadie, École La Source - Tracadie, École La Villa des Amis - Tracadie-Beach, Centre scolaire communautaire La Fontaine - Néguac, Polyvalente W.- Arthur-Losier - Tracadie), where we took part in a number of projects such as Génie Arts, Un école, un artiste, Place aux compétences, etc. As part of these school projects, we made short films, video clips and a number of presentations to explain our profession, as well as a music video that won the Prix Soleil.
