Bio
Léo, a Franco-New Brunswick singer and saxophonist, has been based in Campbellton for 7 years.
After studying choral singing at the Conservatoire de Strasbourg and a master's degree in music at the Université Paris 8 (France), he turned to variety, jazz and gospel repertoire.
In 2010, with his group Tale of Voices, he won the TV show Sing Off, 100% Vocal. He has sung alongside artists such as Patrick Bruel, Lara Fabian, Corneille and many others.
A finalist at the Gala de la chanson Caraquet in 2022, he won the Coup de Coeur award at the Festival International de la chanson de Granby.
In 2023, he was a semi-finalist at the FICG, and in 2024, he was selected for the blind auditions of La Voix.
A specialist in voice and vocal harmonies, Léo Rafael is also a passionate choral conductor who wants to pass on the joy and beauty of polyphonic singing.
Residency Project
As I've already done at Galion des Apalaches, I can offer singing lessons, either in groups or individually.
I can coach a class or students who have an artistic project linked to singing and performance.
I can form a children's choir or accompany anyone interested in singing.
Teaching Experience
I've worked as a supply teacher in schools, but what I'd really prefer to do is have something to do with music and singing, because that's what I'm good at.
I've started several projects where I pass on my skills: I created a multicultural choir at the CCNB, I created a gospel choir in Carleton sur Mer.
