Bio

Originally from Petit-Rocher in northern New Brunswick, Marcel Boudreau now calls Oromocto home. Trained as an artist and interior designer, Marcel's work is inspired by the everyday and by people's reflections, while also drawing inspiration from music through circular forms and gestures. His work is particularly recognizable for the textures that enhance the images. The exploitation of circular movement, collectivity and grouping of works create links that unite us with the aesthetics and wonders of everyday life.

Marcel pursues his research on this theme with a heightened awareness of the depth of the subject. In his works, he offers us a maritime universe in perpetual questioning between figuration and abstraction. Marcel holds a bachelor’s degree in visual arts from the Université de Moncton, N.B., and a diploma in Interior Design from the Collège communautaire du N.B. in Dieppe.

Residency Project

Through the colors and customs brought to us by the world's diversity, I will bring a visual expression seen by the children of our world's youth.

The influence of our images and discussions can be revealed through the multicultural sharing of our community.

My approach to art in schools is varied. Using wood products, slate, paint and other materials, we can create images that suit the environment, whether inside or outside the school.

Our imagination is our limit.

Teaching Experience

Marcel shares his knowledge of the visual arts in various schools, community centers and other institutions in the province of N.B. through projects such as Génie Arts, professional development (educators in District Scolaire Sud) and artistic invitations.
