Natalie Légère was born in Moncton, New-Brunswick, Canada, where she graduated from
l’Université de Moncton with a bachelor’s of Multidisciplinary Arts: French Literature, Artistic
Expression, and Fine Arts. She then focused on colourfield drawing and painting, until 2019.
In 2019 she was struck by how powerfully her colour choices were influenced by her immediate
environment and began painting from life, and exploring figuration as a means for self
expression. She had many mentors during the first part of the decade as she also took up
traditional oil painting, watercolour, and egg tempera successively.
