Bio

I am an Inuit/Settler with mixed roots living on the unceded and un-surrendered territory of the combined Wolastoqiyik, Mi'kmaq and Passamaquoddy First Nations.  Which was covered by the 1752 Peace and Friendship Treaties, which did not deal with the surrender of land, water and resources. These Treaties also recognized the First Nations title and were to establish rules that were supposed to be an ongoing relationship between the Nations. It is important that we carry this narrative into the future generations so we may repair what was once lost. Completed Art Fundamentals at Georgian College, Barrie, ON, and most recently was the Artist in Residence for the City of Saint John for the Spring 2022-2023 period at the City Market.

Residency Project

Art project I would like to carry out are interactive and empowering, ranging from painting studies, chalk workshops, mural installations and concertina notebook workshops. These would be done as a group project, and interactively with each other, the main goal with my projects is connection and community with each classmate. The project would help kids develop skills as beginner or more advanced artists and warrant new natural creative thought processes while working with old mediums in new ways. This would be done with both encouragement and excitement for future artists to emerge and seek further education or learning experiences with the future endeavors.

Teaching Experience

I have experience, mostly through non-profits roots with Chroma NB where I taught free art workshop classes that were about 2 hours long from March to April. As well, I've provided educational support through art-storytelling and creating discussions through my previous work in hope that this would inspire students to create their own thoughtful narratives. I have also assisted in various art installations where guidance and teaching were necessary for the end goal that the contractor/employer/teacher had in mind for goal.
